Company 3 responded this afternoon at the request of county police for a fuel spill in a residence. The residence, located in the 600 block of River Road, had been broken into and the suspects had stolen copper pipes. One of the copper lines was to a 275 gallon fuel tank inside the basement, so fuel leaked out into the residence. Maryland Department of the Environment's Emergency Response Division was requested as the engine crew from Engine 31 began cleanup efforts. 65 gallons were pumped from the tank by MDE. Engine 31 and Chief 3B handled the incident.
