| Tanker 3 traveled to Upperco Volunteer Fire Company in Baltimore County today to participate in a rural water management course focused on water supply operations for fireground incidents in non-hydranted areas.
The training provided participants with an opportunity to learn and practice effective methods for sourcing, transporting, and supplying water during emergency operations where traditional hydrant systems are not available.
The day began with classroom instruction covering key concepts and strategies for rural water supply operations. Participants then moved outdoors for a full-scale practical exercise, putting their knowledge into action.
During the drill, students practiced establishing draft sites, conducting tanker operations, and deploying portable folding tanks to support a continuous water supply on the fireground.
Hands-on training such as this helps firefighters build the skills and coordination necessary to operate effectively during incidents in rural and water-supply-limited areas.
